Default Pro Tools 2018.12 and macOS 10.12.6?

Considering moving to Pro Tools 2018.12 to run on macOS 10.12.6. Anyone know of any success with this configuration, or warnings?

You should always refer to the Avid compatibility doc. 10.12.6 is officially supported and has been for a while. macOS 10.12.6 is my preferred version to run, though 10.13.6 is supported as well with 2018.12. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/c...m-Requirements

10.12.6 is a great version.

I stuck to it for as long as possible.

Last month I had to move to 10.13.6 due to some Apple software. Not liking Pro Tools as much now. I would revert if I could. 10.12.6 was golden.

I would avoid 2018.12 because of the slow playlist problem (I was running it on 10.12.6) and reverted back to 2018.10. Running stable here.

There was no problem running on the cheesegrater even though it doesn't have the i5/i7 the charts says is needed? I have a 3.46 GHz hex core 2012 5,1 and contemplating going with PT2018 on said machine.

No serious problems here. But do read my other posts about laggy GUI.

No problem. There are literally 100s of cheese grater macs running 2018 in post production (a lot doing ATMOS for the big blockbusters) that I can personally verify with no problem.
And no GUI problem either.

Also, you might want to check your info

I know about this page but if you look at it there is conflicting info. Under the Mac heading it shows an i5 for PT standard and an i7 for PT ultimate. 5,1's don't have either of those cpu's. Yet it shows a cheesegrater further down the page. I know there's a lot of room between what's officially workable and what happens in the real world. For example I'm running PT11.3.2 on OSX 10.12.6 with the only issue being not able to import audio via the menu where drag and drop works just fine.

I'm thinking with my tax return due soon about moving on up the ladder a bit (but not HD though).

Core i5/i7 are considered below Xeons found in the Mac Pros (whether cheese grater or trashcan). Not conflicting for that reason. They are just stating the minimums up top.
