Exclamation Record more than one Midi track in protools 8

Long story short, all my connections are good, midi in out etc:
now the keyboard am using is yammaha mm6 (as a controller) and using xpand for the
sounds.I can hear audio and i can record the midi data and also play it
back :) but when i want to record another midi track it does not want
to record the midi data? so how do i record more then one midi track in protools? and how do i strecth 4bars into lets say a 2 or 3 minute track?
and also how can i set a timer to record when i strike a key for example:
can protools give me a head satrt be for the track records like how a camera
has a timer to take a ptcture.
