Default Noise upon return to desk

Having an issue where I receive noisy static playback, not resembling my audio, upon return to my desk. Happened twice today after at least an hour of not working on a project. Restarting software did not help - had to restart the computer. The only thing different from the way I left the computer is that the screen saver was active upon return.

Is it possible that the screen saver is causing an issue?

Is there anything else that could cause this?

The computer did not go to sleep, and the energy saver settings are not set to spin down the hard drives.

I don't know, but this could be your problem..... I was looking today at Digi's compatibility with Logic 8, (because the boss thinks it's a good idea to run as many high power audio programs on the same computer as possible... JEZ) and it said there is a problem running PT and Logic 8 on an Intel mac.

Don't know if this goes for Logic 8 Express or what. Can you list your OS and PT specs?

Oh, ya, and get rid of the USB drives....you need firewire.

Static is often a indicator of clocking problems. Temporally disable the sreensaver and make sure you disable sleep.

System Preferences>Energy saver>Sleep=Never
