Default just canīt fix it..

hi.

first of all my english is really basic, sorry, so read this slow and carefully :P

long time ago i installed my digi001 on a PC with PTLE6.4.
rarely, my protools works fine and i was very happy!. the problem starts when i bought a new HardDisk and install it.
i get the famous DAE error -6042 (PCI bus too busy... blah blah blah) . when i disconnect the second harddrive.. PT works fine!.

so, the problem is the damn second harddrive, maybe the problem is because the 2 harddrives are from different manufacturers .

what im doing wrong????

salutes..

Roberto.

Mixed manufactures are not the problem.

Tell us more about your 2nd drive.
Internal or external? ATA or SATA?
If internal, is it a slave or on it's own cable?
If external, Firewire or USB?
How is it formatted? (FAT32, NTFS, basic or dynamic)

yes you should reformat it or at least delete all the data. You also need to make sure you put the jumper on the correct pins for slave or cable select operation. Then make sure that the drive is operating in DMA mode.

Yes, format the drive.
albee's advice is correct. I'll add, if it's possible to get it off on it's own IDE port, you might see improved performance.
