Default Superior Drummer crashing - Help with crash report

I've been experiencing crashes running the RTAS version of Superior Drummer 2.4.3 (latest) with PT HD 10.3.8 (full system specs are in my sig below). I've had a good run of reliability, but lately it's been taking down PT constantly. I tried re-installing it as well as doing a clean un-install/re-install of Pro Tools. I also ran memtest in Single-User mode thinking I might have a bad DIMM, but it passed.

Not sure what else to try and thought perhaps someone here could help interpret the crash report. Thank you!

In this thread, Superior Drummer executed code, which then required executing Apple code. The Apple code is the last code executed before the crash.

Have you tried PT 10.3.10? Is this plug-in installed as RTAS (.dpm) or AAX Native (.aaxplugin)?

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I had read about some people here having memory issues with PT 10.3.10 so I've stayed on 10.3.8. What's the general consensus on 10.10 these days, particularly on HD/TDM systems?

Initially I was running the AAX version of Superior and when I started having these crashing issues, I tried the RTAS version instead, but the problem remained.

I eventually did a clean uninstall/re-install of PT 10.3.8 and did a complete re-installed of Superior Drummer including all of the sound files. I haven't thoroughly tested it yet, but so far, so good.

As in Mac OS X v10.10 Yosemite? It is neither tested or supported by Avid, and there have been reports of graphics issues with drawing menus. It is a use at your own risk proposition. The uninstaller will not work unless you run it as root, and doing anything as root can be dangerous if you do not know what you are doing.

Sorry, as soon as I replied I saw my mistake and edited the post. I meant Pro Tools 10.3.10, not OS 10.10. My question was about the general consensus on stability of PT 10.3.10 vs 10.3.8. Sorry for the confusion.

I am upgrading the facility I work at from v10.3.8 to a co-install with v10.3.10 and v11.3.1. While most people are not using v10.3.10 regularly, I have received no complaints related to v10.3.10. I think it is the best release since v10.3.7.

The one thing I've noticed since going from Pro Tools 10.3.2 on OS 10.7.x to Pro Tools 10.3.8 on OS 10.8.5 is a dramatic increase in CPU overload errors which I would rarely see prior to upgrading. Perhaps PT 10.3.10 is worth a shot. Thanks.

YES! Many memory issues with our PT 10.3.10 machines. And it's well-reported, as you noticed.

You might consider emailing the Toontrack guys -- they're savvy with these issues and they might appreciate the feedback.

Since I think I've solved my Superior Drummer issue with the uninstall/re-install, perhaps I'll stay with PT 10.3.8. I appreciate all the input.
