Default Drum Triggers

Im quite confused & lost in how to trigger drums. No matter how many videos I watched I still cant quite understand the concept in doing it. I have a bunch of circa survice and thrice stems I would like to use as triggers & blend with my recorded drum kit, But I am lost in the whole process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated on this topic, I am a noob when it comes to recording and mixing a drum kit so please go easy on me. Thank You!

Default Re: Drum Triggers

Basically, you have 2 choices. #1-put triggers on the drums that feed a trigger to midi interface(like the Alesis DM4, DM5, or any Roland drumkit brain) and feed the midi into your session, using a stereo instrument track with a drum VI inserted(like ezdrummer, Addictive Drums, etc). #2-record the drums to separate tracks and use a drum replacement plugin, like Drumagog or Slate Trigger.

Hey thanks for responding! I watched somebody who was recording my old bnd last year take our original drum tracks & he took the kick of that track opened it in beat detective & region seperated all the beats in that track, he somehow got them onto another audio track with a different kick sound, Ive been trying to figure it out but I just cant get the the hang of it.
