But I'm getting ready to make the jump when the new MacPros show up.
I'm on dual 2.5 ppc PT 7.4 Hd3. Doing most my VI programming in Live and on my MacBook Pro but I mix on the big rig.

178 -- I'm on a G5 Dual 2.0ghz running an HD3 on OS10.4.11 and Protools 7.2.1. No plans to upgrade at the moment, given the economy and current workload. Will most likely wait until a new HD system comes out to jump to Intel. I'm really looking forward to the VI headroom that an Intel machine will provide vs PPC. I know it will be expensive when we do upgrade - I'm so far back I'll have to upgrade all my other apps and most of my plug-ins too.

Two systems PT7.4HD and PT7.3HD both on dual 2.0s - used in post.
Will probably run these until PTs 9, don't see any reason to upgrade right at the moment.

Seriously thinking of jumping ship altogether, (even though I love Protools), as I feel I have been badly treated for some time, largely due to the crossgrade cost from PCI to PCIE and now this facade of taking my money for Protools 8 saying it was compatible with PPC and now deciding to drop support leaving me with a buggy version of Protools!

Just in case you were agreeing with me, I don't feel hard done by, I paid for a sysem that is now 5+ years old and it still works . . . I don't expect lifetime support.
I do wish the crossgrade was more affordable, but there is always the chassis.

Dual 2.5gHz G5 Power PC

Running Pro Tools 8.0.0 and trying to upgrade to 8.0.1, but feeling screwed by Digidesign for dropping support of PPC so abruply and prematurely. Since most of my workload has been, er ...light ...lately, and not a heavy virtual instrument user, I'm not experiencing a lot of the problems others are having with 8 ....yet.

Still have 7.4 on another partition if the problems arise. Not considering an upgrade to Mac Pro. What's to prevent Digi from bailing on support for that system if Apple pulls something out of their hat, now that we know how fast they bailed on G5 support.

My PC is older and slower, yet still supported by every audio app provider I've ever used besides Digi.
