Default DIY Slate Raven MTI ? 2 touch screens possible?

I've been looking at the Slate Raven MTI for controlling Pro Tools.

I've read that one can essentially make their own DIY version by buying a monitor, touchscreen overlay and installing software.

When seeing the Slate Raven in action, the first solution I thought of was a dual touchscreen.

Isn't that how most people work with pro tools? One screen for Edit Window. One for Mix Window.

Is anyone out there doing this?

It would seem to me to be the most logical solution for working. Constantly flicking from Mix screen to Edit screen on one window seems less than ideal.

Or, does a dual screen setup screw with the ergonomics of mix spot, etc..?

Anyway.. it would be nice to know what people are thinking and doing.

It seems like touch screens as controllers could be an elegant way to go.

A few have been experimenting with this and are having some success(there are posts and links on the DUC if you search). Also, consider 2 things, 1-you don't need to "construct" a touch screen as they are commercially available for less than a grand. And 2-I suspect you would not be happy with anything smaller than a 27"(which the MTi also is) as things would be too small on the screen for anything but the skinniest fingertips(not mine). I have also seen videos on youtube showing some of these experiments in action

Wow.. I'm surprised there isn't more interest and feedback on this. I would've thought touch controllers like the Slate are the future.

However, I would've thought that people were trying trying to save money by trying to emulate what Slate is going and saving themselves lots of money.

Anyone??

One of the problem is that OSX doesn't support multi-touch screens. Windows 8 does but the apps themselves are usually not multi-touch aware so you'll find the results can be a bit random.

Slate controllers are using a customized version of Nerynck's V-Control as an interface layer to communicate with PT.
