Dell Inspiron 537 Quad-core: If 7.4 is working, will PT8 work?

I just installed PT-M 7.4 onto a new computer and so far everything seems to be okay. I don't really stress it too much since I don't record large sessions or use tons of plugs. I am using an external FW drive for recording, and an M-Audio FW410 interface.

Since 7.4 seems to be okay, should I expect that PT8.0 should also run ?

Also, I don't suppose there is a PT8 demo I can test before upgrading?

In my opinion (and based on my recent 'never-ending' experience w/ PT8), i would stick with what's working.
