MIDI recording issues
I'm having trouble recording MIDI w/PTLE 6.4. When I perform the track everything sounds fine, but when I play it back there is a very quick attack and then the volume diminishes rapidly. I am not quantizing the input or afterwards. I reset my M-Audio Keystation Pro 88, and tried two different sample patches in both Reason and Sampletank. Any suggestions?

Re: MIDI recording issues
There could be many reasons. There are no details enough in your message for guessing. But the first things I would check are:
-check velocities on your recorded MIDI notes to see if they are recorded with those level changes -check volume on the same MIDI track to see if there is a volume automation already recorded or programmed producing that. -of course, try that MIDI channel with another sound to see if it is a normal behaviour for that sound, but it seems like you already did that.

Re: MIDI recording issues
I've tried several different piano sounds (Reason, Sampletank) and get the same result. I've recorded my M-Audio Keystation Pro in Garageband and have had no problems. From what I can see, all the velocities and volume is on track. I've tried fooling around with the MIDI offset window and haven't achieved better results. When I record MIDI in PT, the initial attack is recorded and the rest of the note isn't printed until I release it. For example I strike a note and see this much of a MIDI note recorded: -. While I'm holding the note, nothing is being printed on the screen. Not until after I release the note do I see the full visual representation of the information, like so: ---------. When I play back, the first attack is much louder and the rest of the note suddenly drops off in a very unnatural decay.

Re: MIDI recording issues
Anybody?? I'm dying here! I've even tried disconnecting MIDI to and from 002R to my Keystation, and just going through USB. I've fooled around with everything in the preferences and MIDI menus. Does anyone have any help???

Re: MIDI recording issues
More info: When I record the MIDI in Reason adapted (through ReWire in PTLE 6.4) the recording and playback is fine.
