Digi002 problems after updgrading to PT 6.4

My Digi002 is not being recognized. This happened after I opened my first PT session in 6.4 and downloaded the new firmware.

The long story...
is that I upgraded my 933 quicksilver g4 tower to panther and to PT version 6.4. I then proceeded to open a prior session , upon doing so a dialog box asked me if I would like to download the latest firmware (warning me that this could take a long time). I clicked yes, and waited for the firmware to be updated.

That was last night. Everything was working fine (I only upgraded so I could have the automatic delay compensation). I continued working on that session for about an hour longer. When I was done with the last of edits I closed the session, quit pro tools and shut off my digi 002 (in that order)

Today is a whole new world of not recognizing my digi002

The little green firewire led does not stay lit ( it lights up for a second when I turn the machine off and on and or plug in a cable)

I cannot even enter standalone mod

Troubleshooting done already

upgrade core audio to 6.5.2

Switch firewire cables
unplug turn off

hi,

a few day ago i had a similar hardware problem.
during a session a error message like this appears: Could not communicate with the Digi002.
ok, i closed the session, but the Digi002 doesn't respond.
i switched it off and on again, but nothing
nothing on the channel scribble strip - no wlecome, no digi002,... nothing
also no light, on all buttons,...
also no reaction if i press a button, also the standalone mode won't work,...

pfuh, for a second i run in panic.

ok, i switched of the Digi002 again, unplugged everything (also the power c.), i switched it on for ~20sec.(without power!!), after that procedure everything woks normaly on the Digi002

but there is also still the bounce problem:
Assertion error , "FF_AudioProperty.cpp," line 33
