PT will use Windows ASIO as a sound output, the sound control panel has settings for bit rate etc. Just select the same way as the Steinberg. Now , Pro Tools will only open a given session in its original sample rate (44, 48,96 etc). If you wish to use a session that was started in 48 with 44 sample rate you have to open it first in 48 and than do a save as or save copy and choose conversion in the dialog box to the rate you want to use. Youll have two sessions but it will work.Consider one a backup. If you try to open a session with the wrong sample rate PT tries to close the session, change the sample rate of the chosen audio engine then reopen but if the interface or hardware engine isn't set up for the new rate it will either lock up or quit.

I just realized maybe its only PT First that will use Windows ASIO. I don't think I ever tried with Vanilla. Worth a shot. Everything else applies I think
