Default Mbox 3 Ground or Hum noise

Good Day. Since the last 2 days my Mbox 3 starts to give me some noise in both inputs, is not very hard but it´s damaging my recordings. In the control panel of the Mbox you can see the noise.Mbox3Hum.jpg

How can I fix it. Thank´s

This could be any number of things. Is this happening even without any instrument or mic connected? Since it is showing on the meters, I don't think it would be ground loop related though.

A new/different USB cable would be my first test

I think it might be a failed preamp. You might have to send it in for repair. Your best bet would be to use the free ASC you received when you purchased the Mbox to contact Avid:http://www.avid.com/US/support/support-contact

What's connected to those inputs? If it's anything that requires power from the wall, I would try to get it on the same outlet as your computer as this seems like you have a grounding issue.

Well I thought that the problem were the preamps, but this problem occurs with both preamp knobs closed to zero (0db), only with the faders on the Mbox control panel opened, so it is a little bit weird.

In the other hand there is nothing connected to the inputs, and i´ve already tried to connect the Mbox to another computer and happens again in PC and Mac.

the A to D chip may have gone bad but that's usually more of a popping sound

Hi,

I've recently bought a brand new MBOX3 pro with protools 11. While recording via protools I am getting high frequency ground loop but if I use any other DAW the recordings are fine. Please suggest. I am running protools 11.0.2 on Windows 8.1. no instrument connected, just one dynamic microphone.
