OMF Export from PT with Volume Automation
Hi,
I'm exporting omfs from my PT HD v7.3.1cs8 to an Avid Nitris DNX HD Media Composer 3.5.6. For some reason, the Avid is not retaining my volume automation when the cutting room imports my tracks. It should be part of the omf as there are no settings on my end during the export which would eliminate them. I'm thinking there's is some setting in the Avid which is telling it to ignore volume data when importing omfs. (Or there's a bug on my end or theirs.) Does anyone know if such a setting exists and where it would be? The guys in the cutting room have no idea and it would really improve our workflow if I could automate my tracks and have that retained in the avid. Any help GREATLY appreciated. TIA |

Re: OMF Export from PT with Volume Automation
Sorry - but PT can take Avid automation (rubber banding or clip based), but the Avid expects a fully finished file back from pro tools - so will only play your files at unity gain.
Re-record your mix to a new track ( or bounce to disc - the choice is yours, personally I re-record to a new track) and export that track. That's the workflow cheers
