Mbox Mini (3rd gen) no sound on Mavericks

Hi everyone,

A few days ago I updated my iMac to Mavericks (from Mountain Lion), after it is finished, I tested the sound with just iTunes, and it works perfectly. After I turn it off, the next day when I turn it on again, there is no sound coming out from my speakers.

I checked the "System Preference --> Sound" and the Mbox Mini is still detected and selected, I switch to the built in output, and it works, when I switch to the Mbox again, it doesn't work.

- I have tried restart & shut down,
- re-install latest mbox mini driver (1.1.3)
- uninstall doesn't seems to work

The funny thing is, when I use the built in output, but Mbox Mini as input, it captures and records with no problem. so basically just no output sound.

When I go to the system preference and click on the Mbox Mini button, it shows the settings and there is an update button which takes me to a down webpage.

I probably just need to wait I don't know how long.. but if there is someone who knows a work around while waiting (so far I just use the headphones to built in output and use the Mbox Mini input for recording)

You might want to roll back to 10.8. 10.9 has not yet been qualified by AVID:http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=346026

I'm not sure of the time line for Pro Tools or interface drivers to be fully qualified.

I read that page you mentioned above "after" i encountered the problem , I should have been more careful. At this moment, i am just too afraid to do a roll back, and it still works with headphone as output and Mbox mini as input, just wondered if there is another workaround to keep the Mavericks.

I do hope they are working on the updates

Don't be afraid - roll back - it takes a bigger man to say he has screwed up and fix it than to deny it and carry on
