Avid should have released this offer 6 to 12 months ago, to "ease into" the subscription renewal doubling in price

It's confusing because the pro tools|ultimate link actually says "reinstatement" in the description, where as the link I need for vanilla doesn't mention reinstatement in the description. And, I could be totally wrong, but I swear that that orange banner saying special offer when you "reinstate" was not there earlier.

So, that IS the reinstatement plan for the link above I just posted?

Got ya! So, I'm not too sure what the 15% discount part is for; I think that's just for subscriptions if I'm not mistaken, right?

I have a perpetual license that I haven't upgraded for a few years actually haha so my update plan expired already, but, I know I will need to update pro tools somewhat soon, so I wanted to reinstate my perpetual license. Is that what that link above is for?

Actually you may want to go through Sweetwater - they may not charge sales tax like Avid does. $299 reinstatement plus about $20 in sales tax for a total of $319 here in NJ. Each state may be different in sales tax collection.

Yes. As I said Avid charged me NJ sales tax on my recent reinstatement to go from PT 11.3.2 to PT 2019.6. However Arturia & UVI both being based in France did not charge me sales tax. I think if a company is US based they have to charge state sales tax.

edit for additional:
Back in August of 2018 I emailed Sweetwater in relation to getting what was my last Sweetnotes newsletter. I told them it was because of what Newegg did in turning over past sales lists to the state of Connecticut and that at that time Sweetwater was not charging sales tax on internet sales. The reply I got was they they would not tun over sales lists to any state. The person also said that I should feel comfortable knowing that, unlike Newegg, we have no intention of going back through past records to drum up purchases to collect sales tax, rather we'll proactively start collecting tax and onward if your state were to require it. So apparently your state has made that request.
