Default neverending interrupts

Getting the following message:

The operating system held off interrupts for too long. If this occurs frequently, try increasing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine panel.

Now...I have the "H/W Buffer Size" set to max. I use a Gateway 7510 GX equipped with an AMD Athlon 64, 3700+, 2.39 GHz, 1.00 GB RAM, Windows XP Pro.

This has only recently become a problem...and when I say problem, I mean it starts the second I hit play in a session...and we're talking about sessions with as little as one track!

Where do I begin troubleshooting this issue?

Thanks.

This sounds like maybe a setup issue with the drive not operating in DMA mode. I assume you are recording to a seperate audio drive that is 7200rpm. It must be operating in DMA mode.

I checked the drives in the device manager and it is running in DMA mode. Odd thing is that as recent as the last week or so, I wasn't having much problem with this issue. It really only just started a couple of days ago. I really can't recall anything that would have changed much in my system...that's the frustrating thing.
