New project help
When I open a blank project and import audio into it, I wish to make a copy of the audio files to the project folder automatically. Is this possible?
Thanks |

Re: New project help
If you are importing audio at the SAME sample rate as your session, you have 4 options on an audio import, add, add all, copy, copy all. Choose wisely.
ah... there's an error in the docs (page 345) -- it speaks of "convert, convert all" options -- but if you are importing audio at the same sample rate as your audio, the dialog box is "copy" and "copy all". It used to only be "convert" and "convert all" which copies your audio to the new session. Same function, looks like the UI designers made it better, but the docs are not updated. HTH

Re: New project help
PS if you RTFM, you will see that there are import options in prefs that can also help you...
page 349 It's really worth searching the docs (STFM) because the answer to 99% of your questions are probably right there. The PT docs are incredibly well done, and a simple click from the help menu away!

Re: New project help
You might also want to go into Preferences and check the box for "Automatically Copy Audio on Import".

Re: New project help
I just drag my files right into my sessions region bin... I dont go through the menu and select import and/or convert anything... I found I have had some files get converted and played back faster then the originals going through that method...
When I drag the files into my sessions bin they copy into the audio folder automatically and Ive never had an issue with them playing back.... Very simple to do and literally takes a second to drop files into it. |

Re: New project help
The regions bin is in the Edit window on the right... it lists all the audio files you have in your session.. (image shows the Edit window.. all the way to the right it lists a few files in the regions bin http://itdc.lbcc.edu/cps/music/music...0Waveforms.png )
Just open a window with your audio files and drag from that window into this bin.... they will all be added to your session audio folder and not have any conversion issues. |
