Default Too late to upgrade from PT10+CPTK?

I was unable to upgrade from PT10+CPTK to PT11HD before 12/31/14. I see I can still purchase it at Sweetwater for $599. I know by still running ML co-install is possible but I'm concern with surrendering my CPTK liscense and locking into the HD line. What happens if I just stay on PT10? The support plan is now good through 12/31/15 (three months less). Do this mean I won't get the PT12 upgrade? Anyone have any regrets who purchased this upgrade? Thanks!

What are your concerned about? If the upgrade is possible via SweetWater, then just go for it. It goes like this:

1) you surrender your old PT10 and CPTK licenses from your iLok
2) you transfer a brand new PT10+PT10HD+PT11+PT11HD bundle to your iLok

I don't know but I think it should also activate the new support plan. And if you have active support plan, you should get the PT12 upgrade too. And then it goes like this:

1) you surrender your old PT10+PT10HD+PT11+PT11HD license bundle from your iLok
2) you transfer a brand new PT10+PT10HD+PT11+PT11HD+PT12+PT12HD bundle to your iLok

There's nothing to worry about, surrendering old license(s) is required in order to get a new bigger bundle in place.

And because there are multiple licenses, you can choose to keep using PT10 should you want to, and you have all the HD features too (no need for the old CPTK license).

Very well said. I just want to make sure my current PT10 projects will continue to work once I surrender my CPTK license. Here are my system details:

Mac Pro Quad Core -2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
MBoxPro 2
Mountain Lion 10.8.5
PT9/10 bundle + CPTK (running PT10.3.9)
Ilok2
Mostly used plugins- Isotope RX4 Advanced, Waves Diamond.
Thanks!

As long as you can get the 64-bit versions of the AAX plugins you're already using, you should be fine.

You'll get a PT 10 HD license along with the 11HD license, so you won't have any issues with your existing PT 10 projects. I just did the 9/10 + CPTK upgrade through Sweetwater in December.

Why not just go to the Avid Store and buy an ExpertPlus support plan direct from Avid? I think they might've streamlined the buying process, so don't let the new look intimidate you!

The reason I'm leaning towards SweetWater is I'll have another person to call in addition to Avid if something goes south.

Do I still have to upgrade to 64-bit AAX plugins if I'm just running PT10HD? I'd like to finish all my PT10 projects first. Thanks!

If you are currently running Pro Tools 10, then you are uh running Pro Tools 10, don't install Pro Tools 11, no need to mess with AAX-64 or even AAX-32.

If your are currently using Pro Tools 10 and its working for you and you are in the middle of a project then you should change *nothing* except the assets on the iLok and you keep running with the new Pro Tools 10 HD license asset part of your Pro Tools 11 HD license bundle. And by nothing, I mean nothing, no Pro Tools 10 updates, no Pro Tools 11 installs, no touching plugins, no OS updates. What should be usual session/work in progress behavior--unless things are breaking.
