Default PT11 Printed Manual, and PDF change highlighting

I'd be happy to pay good money for a printed (set of) manual(s). Reading PDF files is all well and good, but I do like being able to scribble notes onto paper.

The latest version in the store was/is for PT9, so I guess a printed manual was never produced for PT10.

But with PT11 introducing some significant new features, I'd appreciate an updated printed manual.

Are there any other dinosaurs out there of the same opinion?

In relation to the PDF manuals, which get a few .x updates during the lifespan of each major version of PT, I'd like to see black highlight lines to show changes to the text when a new version of the PDF is issued.

Sometimes it's hard to spot changes without this, and it's pretty common practice for technical documents in other industries. I lke to read up on changes and this would make it so much easier.

What do people think?

Drew...

I think I posted this on IdeaScale sometime in the past, but you might consider also passing this along to you Avid documentation contact.

Amazon produces "print-on-demand" soft-cover books. One of my novels is available through them and it looks great!

My ex-wife does my publishing and would know all of the details. Just email or PM me if you want any additional info.

I'm pretty sure that the up-front costs are very minimal, and this would be a great way for Avid to make a printed manual available to those who want one, without having to pay all of the costs associated with the "normal" publishing process, stocking printed books, etc.

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Cool, the thread has been referenced so possibly he'll see all this.

Of course, no guarantees anything will come of it.

You can send a .pdf to Office Depot printing services and they can make a booklet for you and send it to you.

Staples offers that service too:

Where do we stand legally with getting it printed, do we need permission. It would be nice if Avid could release the PDF before release date so I can do some reading..
