Default PT9 & Saffire Pro14 & Sampler

Hi

Does the Sampler in PT9 allow the importing of samples from a third party vendor to build a virtual instrument to play those samples/instruments?
Has anyone used a Saffire Pro 14 with PT9?

Thanks everybody...

If you are referring to the sampler included with Protools 9, that is called "Structure." There are several variations (Structure Free, Structure LE, and the full blown Structure). One of these is included with Protools 9 while the other two are available via purchase. These can playback samples from third party sources that provide the samples in the "Structure" format. Additionally, they can playback samples in the Giga (Tascam), and Kontakt (Native Instruments) formats.

I use a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 which is a higher I/O version of the Saffire Pro 14. It is working great with Protools 9.

Hi...
Thanks for your reply. The Sample Library is on Akai tomato.
The upgrade to Structure is 49.00.
Do you know if Structure will ingest the sample data?
The lit says Structure will migrate EXE instruments.
The samples I want to use have been accepted by Logic, will they transfer?
Thanks for the Focusrite info also.
Best
Gary

I don't know about the Akai sample libraries. (What is Tomato?). I also don't know what are EXE format samples. Avid explicitly state the following sample formats are supported:

Structure also plays nice with your existing sound libraries, allowing you to freely load and manipulate unencrypted Avid SampleCell (1 and 2), Native Instruments Kontakt (1–3), Tascam GigaSampler, and Apple Logic EXS24 sound libraries. But if uniqueness is what you strive for, Structure also lets you create your own samples by simply dragging and dropping any audio region from Pro Tools straight into Structure.

There are many sample formats out there and some are more popular (Kontakt, Giga, etc.) than others (Roland, Kurzweil, Ensoniq, Emu, etc.). Not all are supported however. Perhaps there is a sample converter utility available online if you search for it.

EXE and Tomato are typos, sorry.
Should be EXS and format, don't know how that happened.
The drag and drop method is tedious and time consuming for 200+ instruments.
I'll call AVID and get details on operation of the full version of Structure.

Thanks
