Default My Audio input level won't go down!

I'm recording my bass through an mbox right now. very simple. I created a new audio track, set to input 1-2, output 1-2 as always. when i hit record, the sound level shoots up and does not come down and my bass signal is not being captured. I've never had this problem before. I've tried adjusting input levels, restarted my computer, started a new session, checked the mixer, and used various instrument cables, but still no solution. Can someone please help?

Much appreciated-

Wrong section first of all, you have Pro Tools LE not HD

You've created a feedback

You need a Mono audio track
input set to Analog in 1
output to analog out 1-2

Delete digi preferences restart PT check I/O setup. I don't know much about the mbox but it was probably a input loop.
