Default Want to do a clean OSX reinstall and PT 8.0.6

Hello- I am currently running a MBP with 10.6.8 and Pro Tools 8.0.6. About two months ago things started acting funny with rewire- I use Live 9.1.6 as well...

Orginally I bought PT 6x for my G5 Power Mac, I have all the documentation, codes, etc. w/ the digi002.

When I bought my current MBP 5 years ago, Pro-Tools was the first app I installed. This is the last intel duo core machine made- I think. 5,3. I have it maxed out with 8 gigs of ram. Now im having all kinds of little issues with all apps. Everything is running slowly, apps are not opening. I am a little upset at the prospect of doing a total reinstall, but got to do what you have to do.

I don't remember how I got PT LE 8x on this machine- hey, it was five years ago, so I am reaching out to the community for some help. I have all the original install disks, but they are for my G5 machine. Help me please. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you are correct. I double checked. 8.0.5. Thank you for the link. So I have to DL 8.0 then 8.0.5? And use my original registration codes?

I have another question. I know the answer is probably a big NO, but I have purchased many plugins/instruments and so on, is it possible to move the plugin/preference/whatever other folders to a external hard drive and just plop them back in their proper spot when done reinstalling OSX 10.6.8 and PT 8.0.5. Funny, right? It would take me at least a month or two reinstalling everything. Luckily I have all disks, codes, but....

8.0.3 full installer and then 8.0.5 update.

Perhaps you could but knowing all the files, prefs and wherever the auths are stored is the problem. Re-installing and authorizing is what we know how to do.
