I got the bouncing coreMidi.Framework in the dock when launching an app that uses midi besides prtools (mopho editor) and fixed it he same way as in the prerelease, by grabbing DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin from the 8.0.1 distribution.
Anyone else see this behaviour when launching an app besides PT that uses midi?

Well Logic pro 9 launched ok and is working but there's a folder open or folder icon (very weird) in the dock that says CoreMidiServerFramework. Very strange. Never saw that one before.

I, also have the bouncing CoreMIDI.framework folder bouncing around when running other MIDI apps (tried Sibelius [Avid product], Finale, and Ivory Standalone).

Replaced the DigiDioMIDIdriver.plugin with the 8.0.1 version and it goes away... same as the workaround for 8.0.3pr.

I hope this gets resolved... funny that it made it out of testing this way.

I also noticed this upon first launch of LE 8.0.3 (I simply quit the CoreMIDI.framework app). It happened again upon launching my first session (again I quit the CoreMIDI.framework app), and since then it has not popped up on subsequent boots of LE 8.0.3 (even after restarting the computer). I hope that's a good sign...

The pre-release was "8.0.3pr", now they are releasing "8.0.3". It's the official 8.0.3 instead of the previous unofficial 8.0.3. I'm going to hold off since I won't be using the studio for about 2 weeks, I'll just monitor the boards for feedback.

Now that it's disappeared for you in PT, does it run and bounce when running other MIDI apps? My issue was that it was bouncing around even when PT was not running and any of the apps I mentioned in my previous post (Finale 2010a, Sibelius 6, Ivory Standalone) were running. All those apps are their latest SL compatible builds.

For what it is worth, I loaded PT 8.0.3 on an Leopard 10.5.8 Mac Mini that I have using a Digi002R. It loaded fine, started fine, and opened and created new sessions fine. Playback was fine also. Hopefully I can find time to load Snow Leopard on that machine these next couple days. I wanted to post this just in case someone was wonder how 8.0.3 works on Leopard as 8.0.1 seems to have some complaints. It actually seems to run smoother and a little bit more responsive than before but I didn't measure any benchmarks. I don't have any issues with core audio or midi drivers that I can tell.
