Default Continuously writing (or tapping) tempo track in real time

Is there a way in PT to write a tempo track by tapping tempo or using a MIDI controller ?
Thanks

I have sometimes tapped (and recorded) quarter notes on my keyboard, and used Beat Detective to create a tempo map from that MIDI track.

Yes but it's not realtime. IF the tempo map could be written on the fly, it would also send that new tempo to tempo based effects too. Maybe PT11 does it, as it allows recording automation on the fly?
