Digisnake questions
I have a db25 to xlr-F digisnake. I was reading the 192 manual, and from what it looks like, the analog input pinout is the same as the digital AES/EBU pinout. Will I be able to use this snake on either the analogue or digital section of the 192, without probems?
Thanks. Btw, I know the snake I have does not have XLR-M, only XLR-F, but I only use 1-2 digital ins at a time (no digital outs) so thats not really an issue. |

Re: Digisnake questions
The digital snake is 110 ohm cable. You want this. Avoid mic lines for AES/EBU if at all possible.

Re: Digisnake questions
I thought all digisnake cables were 110omhs.

Re: Digisnake questions
MH082 is the model cable I am using. Will I be able to use this for the analog ins AND the AES ins?

Re: Digisnake questions
Yes, they are, it's called "digital grade" microphone cable. It can be used for analog and digital connections.
But you cannot use same cable for both !! because AES/EBU cable has different pinout than analog cable. You need to have both, if you need to use both. The difference being one digital cable is enough for 8 inputs and 8 outputs whereas you need two analog cables for it (one for inputs and another for outputs). Hope this helps. Cable itself is the same, but different pin configuration.

Re: Digisnake questions
Looking in the 192's manual, it looks as though the pinouts are the exact same? I can't find a difference?
Will the MH082 snake work for AES ins? Thanks again! |

Re: Digisnake questions
The AES snakes provide 8-channels in and 8-channels out.... therefore the cables won't work on that alone. In addition, the signal is different. Buy the cables meant for digital for digital and the ones meant for analog for analog. They DO follow the Tascam pin-out as opposed to the Yamaha, that might be where you're confused.
