USB MIDI not working for PTMP

i have a yamaha keyboard id like to setup with protools as a midi interface

This particular keyboard (S90) has a USB interface to my mac. As far as I can
tell when the drivers are installed, the keyboard should be recognized by the mac system.
The driver is a pref pane on the System Preferences

How do get protools to recognize the input from the keyboard?
With MIDI tracks it seems more straightforward... input device is set to a specific port and specific channel
for the keyboard... but what about getting to use Strike or other plugins with key layouts to work with
this external keyboard...

maybe i should get some midi cables and plug them into the projectmix, so all signals are coming through the
projmix...

In Pro Tools, check Setup Menu>Midi>Input Devices, is the Yamaha appearing there?

i solved my own problem...

on my keyboard there are USB and standard MIDI cable jacks..
i had to turn the default output/input to USB instead of the MIDI cable jacks..
it is a setting on the keyboard, not on Protools...

DUH!
