Digi 001 and Digital Mixers
Hey Everyone,
Im getting the digi 001 and a g4 within the next few days... I already have a yamaha aw2816 and I was hoping to use the digital faders on it as a digital interface/mixer for my new protools rig... What sort of interface goes from the aw2816 to the computer, and how are the fader movements recognized? Do I need a SCSI card for this? Do I hook up the aw2816 to midi and use the fades as midi movemnt? If you are not familar with the Yamaha aw2816 I have, it is based on the O2R system and oV1... so how do THEY work with protools? I have seen them used before and figure it is a similar system. Thanks so much! Mike |

Re: Digi 001 and Digital Mixers
The only digital mixer I know of that works with protools is the Ramsa series, because it has a built in HUI emulation mode. Unless the mixers you're talking about can do that, you're probably out of luck.
To answer your other question, you would need a MIDI connection on the console to interface with protools, but unless it can emulate one of the control consoles supported by digi, it probably won't work. |
