Mixer Main Out L ---> MBox2 Line In 1
Mixer Main Out R ---> MBox2 Line In 2

That's one way.

What kind of mixer is it? What are you looking to be able to do with it?

Good question above. Personally, I would skip the mixer unless you need to record a group in one pass. Each time you add a device in the signal path(analog path, that is) you add more possible noise and phase issues(the shorter the signal path, the cleaner and more pure the audio signal remains). Now if its a really good mixer, it could serve as a handy way to have several things patched and ready to go by keeping most channels muted(on the mixer) and unmuting whatever you wish to record. But if its the average Mackie or Behringer mixer, I would skip it.

Yeah, is an $80 dollar behringer model. Im looking to add scratching effects on a track with a turntable that im most likely gonna buy today. When it comes to stuff like this I'm an impulse buyer. Im trying to do my homework first this time so thanks for the help.

Turntables should go thru an RIAA phono input(like found on a DJ mixer). Not quite sure how it will sound, straight in, but where you're scratching, that may be okay.

It sounds very thin. No low frequencies.

(Though, it might be that you'll be able to reconstruct it digitally. It's after all just a EQ curve, its purpose was to make the tracks in a vinyl record thinner and get more songs on a LP record.)
