Default Control 24 maintenance issue

There are 2 constant issues that I have with the older Control 24.

1- the monitor section seems to need their ribbon cables reseated on a fairly regular basis. Especially when the temperature changes. Maybe it's because they hang upside down? Any advice to keep them tightly in place?

2- To get to those ribbon cables, I need to take the back off. When I do so, the AUX ribbon cable is so short that I need to disconnect it. I'm not sure if this cable can disconnect from the circuit board mounted on the back cover. (seems very tight) but it comes off quite easily from the other end which is deep into the body of the board. Subsequently it's almost impossible to put the cable back on as there is just not quite enough slack.
Is there a longer cable that can be used ? (or does this cable disconnect from the back cover side?)

thank you

Hey Natural Sound,

1. When I replaced my Audio board, every connector had hot melt glue holding it in place. This might be a good option for you. A dab of hot melt glue on either side of the ribbon connector once they are properly seated will make sure they never move again.

2. I don't remember this problem when I opened my unit so I can only assume that it must disconnect from the rear panel somehow. Do you have the "Control 24 teardown" pdf?

Hope this helps,

Lizardpoint

Thanks, I was thinking about the hot glue possibility. I have a gun, so that will be an easy experiment.
Don't know about the teardown PDF. Where do we find that?
That may also be an answer to another post regarding the removal of the armrest.

@lizardpoint - I sent you an email

@Isengard ent - Thanks, I just spent about an hour at Youtube following your search suggestions once I deciphered your instructions. (don't be in such a hurry- hooom) Couldn't find anything useful. Maybe the video was removed, or I'm doing something wrong.
The only video I saw with the Control24 opened up was one regarding replacing the power supply ribbon harness, but this had the board upside down and already dismantled from the bottom.
But I would love to see the hot glue vid, if anyone runs across it.
