Default Can my Apple second internal hard-disk be a problem?

I have an extra hard disk on my Mac Pro, wich I ordered with my Mac Pro. I use that one the way Digi says, for recording and playback.
I just don't see many users here usig a second internal disk from Apple, and I began to wonder if that can be the source of my problems...

As long as it is fast enough like 7200rpm and 2mb+ cache it should be fine. The main reason for external drives is their portability and easy replacement.

I was wondering the other way round why more people seem to use external than internal drives. Latter one makes more sense to me since internal drives should have their own and very fast bus instead of one single firewire bus for all external HD attached. My system profiler reads 4 HD SATA channels at 3 Gbit opposed to 1 firewire bus at 800 Mbit. Am I overlooking something here?

In addition, Digi specifies secondary internal drives like this:

Quote:
Pro Tools supports recording and playback to a secondary drive that meets the following requirements:

7200 rpm or faster
9ms seek time or faster

Haaaa, man, I thought this would be easy. But it's not showing up in system profiler nor disk utility... Maybe someone else has an idea what app to use. You can always check your HD's brand and serial number in system profiler (choose from the menu Apple–>About this mac–>More information–>Serial-ATA–>select device from the list) and then look it up online at a store or the HD's manufacturer. Sorry, I don't have an easier way.
