Default iLok issue

So, I upgraded to Win8, but couldn't get my ilok to install properly. So I wiped everything and went back to Win7 (which was working fine until I upgraded), and I get the same issue. I keep getting an authorization missing error, even though the ilok is inserted and the proper licenses are on it. It says I need a newer driver, and I just installed the latest ones on ilok.com and paceap.com. Anyone have an older driver that they might be able to email me so I can test it out?

Are you sure the license is on it? Go back to ilok.com and verify that it's been claimed and transferred to your ilok.

Yes, I'm sure...it worked fine before I upgraded to Win8, and it still works on my iMac. The weirdest part is that when I go to ilok.com, the 2 licenses I have (PT10 and UBK-1), show up on the ilok fine, so it seems like it should be working. I use Reaper, too, and when I try to put the VST of UBK-1 on a track, I get the same error message.

When I (tried to?) install the ilok drivers, it brings up the screen that says it's installing the .dll's and that license support installation will be next, then that screen just disappears and nothing else happens...I can't remember how the installation went when I first installed them on my laptop about a year ago when I bought it.

Of course you do realize that PT hasn't been qualified for WIn 8 yet?

Try using safe remove for the ilok and then unpluging your ilok, uninstall the ilok drivers reboot, install ilok drivers, then pluin ilok.

Default iLok issue

My greetings to all the Avid members.
I bought Pro Tools10 in may 2012 and the 2nd gen ilok, registered everything, and it worked smooth until nov when suddenly my ilok crashed in a session and was not being recognized when i launched protools. It lights up blinking and error msg says ilok authorization missing at every launch.
Reinstalled ilok drivers and even protools10.
No physical damage caused to ilok, tried in different usb ports.

I am using

hp probook4530s
corei5 2.50GHz 32bit
windows7ultimate
4gbRAM
HDD 500gb
usb powered interface mbox2

If you could please unravel the mystry for me.
Thanks

Unhappy Re: iLok issue

Accidentally no.It wasn't configured when i logged on to ilok.com

I have protools on my laptop which i don't connect to internet. Should i have drivers installed on my desktop, coz i checked it on my desktop where i don't have even fraction of ilok drivers. i don't think that should matter.

Unfortunately ilok guys don't respond to my situation when reported. They did ask me for screenshot that i mailed to them.
Since after that its me and my despondency.

There are 2 drivers. 1 to use the ilok for its intended purpose, and one to view and access the ilok from the web site. There is an explanation o what each driver does on the iLok website. You need at least the one to view it from the website.
