Default Pro Tools First - Shut down/Crash on Startup

I have installed PTF with no errors. I have my iLok setup correctly. I am running Windows 10 Home on a machine that exceeds specs. I have been searching on here for a couple days and read through what I thought was similar but no luck. Latest version 12.8.2

When I launch PTF the splash box appears and it begins "initializing databases" then it appears to go to "Login to Account" and then it crashes every time. There are no error messages, just crash box. Holding the N button down does nothing. My account is valid and works fine in the application manager.

On the surface it seems to fail at the login and never gets beyond that.

I have removed and re-installed 3 times with same problem.

I have a 3rd Generation MBox with updated drivers.

Has anyone had any issues like this. Any body have any words of wisdom.

Rick

I know you are not getting an error, but you may want to give this a shot

I have all the Avid and PT stuff allowed in my firewall. I also tried turning off Windows Defender and disabling my antivirus but that did not help either.

And no error codes at all? Does PT | First crash or the whole PC crashes (bluescreen)?

There are no error codes. Just PTF crashes not the computer. Thanks for trying to help. The white box comes up saying PT has crashed.

Did you try running as administrator? Right Click the icon and Run As Admin.

It sounds like my problem.
Windows 10 on i7, Focusrite Scarlett (also m-audio 2496, yamaha usb audio).
Installed and licensed properly, App Manager says all is ok.

You launch PTF (tried from admin and from another user account).
It does a DB operation, scans plugins (I tried removing all plugins), and then...
...ta da! it launches a Windows Installer that hangs for 20 minutes saying it's preparing the install. It's not really a crash but it hangs forever.
I once cancelled the infamous installer and let PTF in the background. 15 minutes later, PTF appeared! I could switch to French.

I don't get it: is it installed or not? There's not way to block this Windows Installer (you're not on linux!).
There is no log saying what is launching the silly thing.
