good direct in guitar with real time distortion?
ive been having problems getting a good electric guitar with distortion. My friend recently purchased a mac mini and a usb audio interface, along with garage band we plugged the guitar direct in added dist in real time and it sounded great. how would i go about doing this with my mbox without an astronomicly expensive plugin.

Did your Mbox come with a version of Amplitube?

You gotta download a demo of Native Instruments Guitar Rig:)
Man I wish I can harness some of those sounds live for under 1000.00 US:) |

Re: good direct in guitar with real time distortio
What about a good front end like Line 6 Pod or v-Amp?
I use amplitube and I am not totally happy with it. I am going to buy one of these two and record all guitar effected sounds direct. neeel.

Re: good direct in guitar with real time distortio
well im not big into guitar and am working with limited space so i cant justify going out and spending alot of money on a good guitar setup. but right now im working on a project where we want alot of guitars in the mix, have alot of guitars to choose from but no one has good amps/processors so i think the software fix will suit us fine. ill have to look into some of the plugins specified.

Re: good direct in guitar with real time distortio
You can get the Behringer V-amp for around $100 and it sounds pretty darn good.
