Video Import - Not importing Audio
Hi All - I'm sure I've gone and clicked something along the way to mess this up. Here's what's happening.
PT 2019.6 Ultimate -regular session -drag and drop an MP4 file into my library. Import box comes up, and I have 'import audio' checked. Also add to clip list. -Video is imported but not the audio -if I right click on the video file, it says IMPORT AUDIO. I click that, and it gives me the window of where to download imported audio. It used to automatically import the audio (or at least give me the 'where to download' window). Now I have to make that extra step every time. Any ideas where I can look to fix this? Thanks! Mike |

Re: Video Import - Not importing Audio
Do you have Show Audio selected in the Clips window?
Try doing a Video Import from the File menu or dragging the video clip into the timeline, both of those should put the audio on new track. |

Re: Video Import - Not importing Audio
Yup - show audio is selected. Doesn't matter which way I do it (import from file menu or drag into clips) - it pulls in the video, but not the audio. The only way I can get the audio is to right click on the video file and click on 'import audio from video'. Then it works no problem.
So bizarre because it used to work just fine. Not sure if it's a bug or just something I've switched off... Mike |

Re: Video Import - Not importing Audio
Yeah,
we've just upgraded to PT Ultimate and find the same thing. When importing video via the import menu, the audio gets imported as usual, but when dragging and dropping the video into the bin, it doesn't import the video audio - even though import audio is clicked at the checkbox. Any solutions so far? Thanks, Tim |

Re: Video Import - Not importing Audio
Yeah I'm experiencing the same issue.
This might be linked to the fact that I've upgraded my system from Pro Tools to Pro Tools ultimate, via an authorization only and didn't reinstall the application. When I import a video (not dragging it in) the dialog box asks if I want to import audio, and I select it, but no audio gets imported. The strange thing is that when I go to import the audio for the video separately when it gets imported it adds a .1 at the end of the file. This usually happens when you import something identical twice. Checked the audio files folder but that audio file isn't there. I think PT thinks it was imported already and automatically adds the .1. Definitely a bug. |
