Default New DUC Categories

Is there support for new DUC categories to make the DUC more useable? My modest proposal:

Within Protools TDM systems:
Hardware/Software Issues for Mac
Hardware/Software Issues for Windows
HD Issues
Plug-Ins Discussion
Plug-Ins Settings Popular/Electric
Plug-Ins Settings Classical/Acoustic
Microphone & Mic Pre Forum
Outboard & Interface Forum
Monitor/Headphone Forum
Go Ask Digi
After Hours

After Hours is code for bull sh-t -- which I happen to enjoy, but should be in a different place than those posts dealing with more serious issues.

I also recommend that DUC require all postings to be made under the author's real name -- first and last. This one change would greatly increase the level of professionalism on the DUC.

I do agree with you. I am using my real name, no reason for hiding.maybe famous guys prefer to have privacy. Imagine a "God" like Phil Ramone, Rupert Hine etc etc being bored for one hundred emails a day!!

Sorry, i totally disagree with the motion to create more categories. It's much easier to scan the topics on one page and NOT read what i am not interested in, than to have to check eight or nine categories for possibly interesting stuff.
just my opinion.

I think that your category ideas are good, but I too enjoy quickly checking my usual 4 categories, and then scanning the ones I think are interesting, and then getting off the DUC.

I think just adding one additional catergory would be fine. Name it "Pro Tools HD for Mac OS" and leave the rest alone. If you segment the catergories to much a person will be using the search function more. Not a great feature on this board; functional yes, efficient no.

At the very least there should be a plug-in forum.
