Well, not deliberately, and there's no preamp settings saved in any of my sessions - are you talking about the older Avid Pre? There used to be one in the system here, but got rid of it when the MTRX went in. Is it even possible to control the MTRX's preamps from a Pro Tools session? If so, then I suppose this is probably related to that and I'll dig in and figure out what's going on.

As you can probably tell, this isn't a system I work on all that much, so I apologize for the stupid questions.

If that’s the case, then ensure that you don’t have any Preamp control enabled under the peripherals dialog in Pro Tools. You can also disable this PRE communication functionality in DADman.

Thanks Jeff - knowing about this is enough for me to figure it out - I'll check with the other users to make sure none of them are using it.

Appreciate the help!

Rich,
I am local to you and close to Burbank. If you need a hand trying to figure this out I’m happy to help. I agree with Jeff that this could be related to Preamp Control enabled in Peripherals but I think you would know if you’re changing and controlling your Preamp settings within that session and you said you were not. They could still be setup system wide however.

Good luck,
Mike

Thanks for the kind offer Mike - I think I can figure it out from here. This is a client's home system that I work on very intermittently (as do a couple of others), but there's no real systems tech for it, hence my ignorance. It didn't occur to me that the old PRE functionality still existed with MTRX - no doubt this is the problem.

thanks all!

No problem. The DADMan setting will be as shown in the attached photo.

For Pro Tools the settings will be in Peripherals like Jeff said.
