Default Recording Shortcuts

Hey guys,

I want to speed up my recording workflow (Protools 11, Macbook Pro 13"), so I need some shortcuts.

F12: "Start Recording" doesn't work, with or without pressing "fn", F1-F9 control Pro Tools, F10-F12 are useless OS X shortcuts

I'm also interested in all the other features a numeric keypad give me, but my macbook doesn't have one. maybe i'll buy an external pad but hopefully you know all the shortcuts on basic keypad.

Thx!

Page 7 and 8 in the Shortcuts Guide might help initially.
I mostly use "3" on the numeric keypad for "record". And "Enter", "Enter" for quickly assigning memory locations there.

Ok now F12 works.

I had to go to "System Preferences" (sry my Mac is set to German", the mac preferences though) --> keypad and then disable the shortcuts for F10, F11 and F12

thanks!

Yep the manual says that is recommended / I think the optimizations say that about the F12 key as well

Fwiw I use the 3 on the keypad also

Go to System Preferences and select Spotlight. At the bottom uncheck Spotlight Menu Keyboard Shortcut. There is a video on YouTube about optimizing your machine for ProTools and this is one of those things.
