Default S6, X-MON/TB MIC question

I am trying to feed our on-board S6 mic through the x-mon TB mic i/p, then out of the TB/slate output and then back into channel 8 analogue in. I don't get any level at all and the TB/Slate o/p of the x-mon which is very low level, about -50db suggesting this is a mic level output. I would have hoped this would have been lifted to a line level? Can anyone confirm this?

Hey Shadetek,

I'm not sure but I think the TB mic thru is just a mic input thru, there is no mic pre in the S6. So you would need to plug it into a mic pre, and then on into your interface, that would account for the low level.

Again I'm not sure, but I think that is how it works.

Shade. Are you getting a decent level into the xmon tb in ? Which tb input are you using ? #1 (on dsub) or #2 on the break out cable with the midi etc?
#2 has some phantom & #1 doesn't, I believe.
I use the slate out into a 96io & the level is fine. Line I think. I don't have the manual with me to check.

The XMON EUCON Software Application supports both of the Talkback channels (1 and 2) available on XMON.
Talkback 1 Connects as part of the 15-pin Control Cable. Does not provide phantom power. Talkback 1 requires a mic preamp be- tween the S6 and XMON. If using a condenser mic, the mic pre needs to provide phantom power.
Talkback 2 Connects via DB-25 cable to the XMON TB/LB/UTIL port. Talkback 2 provides +18V phantom power.
