upgrade/crossgrade- uninstall first ?

i have pro tool 9, NOT HD. I think when I went from 8 to 9 I had ti uninstall first? Is there step by step instructions anywayre. I have been looking around. I am thinking about taking the leap

You may not have to uninstall 9... but it's a good idea.

I know I will as soon as 10 finishes downloading.

This may be of importance. This is from the "read me" file associated with PT10.

May only be applicable to Win7 but this thread seemed like the best place to point it out.

Using the Pro Tools 9.0.5 Uninstaller Also Uninstalls Structure (PTSW-151154)
When using the Pro Tools 9.0.5 Uninstaller to uninstall Pro Tools 9.x, the Structure plug-in is also uninstalled from your computer.
To avoid this issue, do not use the Pro Tools 9.0.5 uninstaller. Select “Program and Features” in the Windows 7 Control
Panel and select Avid Pro Tools for uninstall. Choose “Pro Tools Only” or “Pro Tools and Avid HD driver” for the type of uninstall.
Do not select the third uninstall option as that will also remove Structure. If you encounter this issue, you will need to reinstall

I can't get them to download for some reason...

I am thinking about this but trying navigate the avid site to find the drivers for 003 pt 10 sems like i go in circles

thanks i went there,, i see there is no pt 10 driver, have to use the 9

Right, that's the latest driver to use. Haven't heard any troubles with it yet.
