Default Final Cut fader moves

Hello,

Is is possible to export fader moves from a Final Cut session? I am working with an editor who has completed 95 percent of the audio mix. When I import his omf I do not see track names and there is no mix automation. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

When importing into ProTools make sure you have the option to convert clip gain to automation selected.

that's awesome! when did ver.6 come out? I still get plenty of omfs from fcp people without volume automation.

It's been around for nearly a year and is part of Final Cut Studio 2.

I do too. I bought a copy of FCP just for that. Once I import the OMF and discover there's no automation, I have the editor send me a copy of their final edit. (just the projectfile). I open in FCP6 and everything is offline, but the automation is there. Export another OMF (this is empty, but it has the automation).

Open in PT and copy automation to the OMF tracks I imported the first time. It's a drag, but it works.
