Default blank gray screen

i install LE 7.0 a few months ago. i used it with no problem for a while. after about 2 weeks of not using it, i pulled up one of my files and one of the tracks was missing. since i'm relatively new to this, i assumed that i had done something wrong. since then, i've been really busy and haven't even turned on the computer in about 2 months. now, when i open up PT and try to open a session (whether previous or new) all i get is a blank gray window with the session title in the header bar. i'm not sure where to go from here. this computer is not connected to the internet, i don't use it for anything other than recording. no one else has used the computer but me. i'm just kinda stuck.

any suggestions

If you had no error dialogs on startup, it may be just that your Edit and Mix windows have become minimised. On the menu try clicking on Window and then Edit to see if it pops open.

Otherwise, do the Delete DAE & Pro Tools Preferences process as described in the General Troubleshooting message on this forum.

Cheers,
Marty.

Can you access any of the PT menu's?
If so, does the Track List show any audio files associated with the session?

when the main window for PT opens the menus available in the upper left hand corner are there and usable. when any other window is opened, it shows the session title in the header bar, but the rest of the window remains blank and unusable. doesn't matter if it's a previously saved session or starting a brand new session.

Can you post a link to a screen shot so we can see what you are describing?
