Does new purchase of PT include prior versions?

when you say I can get '' new releases '' for a year are these bug fixes or new added features I can get for a year..I recall when I bought PT's10 they only supported it for so long..

Software releases are typically a combination of features and bug fixes, see the Pro Tools Release Notes for examples.
