Specifically, look at the info on Zero Downtime (ZDT) and if you go for that, remember that you have to manually switch on Theft And Loss Coverage (TLC).

What TLC does, in effect, is set the entire iLok so it stops functioning after 90 days of not syncing it using iLok License Manager. You get plenty of reminders as the 90 days limit approaches, and resyncing it is painless, easy, and takes just a few seconds.

The benefit is that the overwhelming majority of license providers have given iLok.com permission to instantly issue you with new replacement licenses, when you report your existing iLok broken, lost or stolen. So as long as you keep a spare iLok handy, you can be up and running with a new set of replacement licenses within a few minutes.

The reason this replacement is sanctioned by the license providers is that they know, with 100% certainty, that the broken/lost/stolen iLok will stop working, forever, within a relatively short period of time (maximum of 90 days, if you lose it just after syncing it). So they can be confident that there will not be two licenses active, in the long term, corresponding to the sale of just one license.

I wouldn't be without ZDT with TLC, and the more licenses you acquire, the more of a no-brainer it becomes to buy it.
