PT12HD - Two questions about upgrading
I haven't been following v.12 discussions much and I have two questions.
I found this from https://www.avid.com/US/products/pro...ware/licensing "Please note that while Pro Tools | HD 12 can be used as standalone software, it only works with Pro Tools | HDX and Pro Tools | HD Native hardware" Can I still use PT12HD with laptop built in audio if needed (with iLok2)? I sometimes have to make small things on the road and that is very useful. If I buy 12 today, does my licence start now or from 2016/01/01? Edit: Do I have to renew my licence 2016/08/29 or 2016/12/31? I remember having read somewhere that you get extra time by upgrading before end of 2015. Maybe that was misinformation. Thanks, PJ Last edited by P_J; 08-29-2015 at 01:08 AM. |

Re: PT12HD - Two questions about upgrading
The first part has been discussed before and is not new. HD software will work with any interface, or with your computer's built in audio. Just like it has since PT9. This is Avid's awkward worded way of letting HD TDM users know that their hardware won't work with anything above HD10.
As for the other question, your year expires from the date you upgrade, so August 29, 2016. |
