Default Problems with Beat Detective

Hi!

This is my second thread now, and I hope I´ll get some help now!

I have an audio file, that is currently 120 bpm, and I trim it down with Time stretch, so it sounds FASTER. Now, when I use Beat Detective, it creates Bar/Beat Markers with a temps that is SLOWER.

What the hell is going on?

really, somehow that sucks! It doesn´t do what´s written in the manual.

And when I hit "Region seperation", it doesn´t do anything.

I even tried to do what Steve Vai does in this video, it doesn´t work!

Relaly, it seems to me that stuff is some kind of [bleep]...

I've seen your other threads but there is more than one way to do this and I would be basically typing what is covered in the manual.

If you are doing this via the time compression/expansion plug-in first change the tempo of your session, then, in grid mode, using the trim tool(TC/E trim tool) to shrink your beat.

Doing this via Beat Detective is a whole other approach.

One thing the Vai vid doesnt show is him using the "sensitivity" slider after he hit "analyze". If this slider is at 0, nothing will happen when you hit "region separation".

The first step, is to get the regions separated either using BD or manually.

how should I change the tempo, if I don´t know it? You don´t understand me , I changed the tempo of the file to have an unknown tempo (I did that just to get the characteristics of an audiofile with unknown tempo) so I could see if the analyzer works. But it seems like it doesn´t...

Use the Identify Beat Command.

Here is the "How To..." procedure.
