Hyperthreading and 9172 etc related issues
Im hoping this may help some of you who have been experiencing major hassles with 9172 etc issues in PT10 on Mountain Lion. I have posted before about this and have had some success with safe starting the mac which did cut down on some of these problems. Well today I tried something different. I have a 2009 2 x 2.26ghz Quad Core Mac. I had head about issues with hyprethreading but never took it further. So after following the advice on a Logic Pro help board I was able to switch hyperthreading off. Miracle upon miracles. Not only did PT run faster I was able to run a session that was choking at 1024 buffer at 256 with room to breathe. Stable as the rock of Gibraltar. You will need X Code which you can download for free form the Mac App Store. Then follow the advice on this link. And just so you know hyperthreading switches on every time you restart the mac so you will have to switch it off when you boot up. Hope this helps out some of who have had the same issues as me!!
