Re: Pro Tools Track Input Monitoring???
Hook Sound: Ok found that option, clicked it but still doing samething. Is there a location somewhere to turn just the record fader down? if all else im probably just going to get a Headphone amp to run the output via that way instead of back into the mixer. Im starting to remember now why I stopped using pro tools years ago lol

Re: Pro Tools Track Input Monitoring???
Try turning it down when it's Red, ie in Record.
Cheers,

Re: Pro Tools Track Input Monitoring???
You set the fader at one position when it's in playback, and another when it's rec-enabled.
You must also select the "auto input monitor" option instead of "Input only monitoring" (I don't remeber wich menu), or you wont hear it playback. I used to do this all the time. I'm talking about vocals now. Mute the recording track when recording and feed a direct signal from the pre to the performer. I found that even at the smallest buffer size I had, 128, the combination of direct sound (the voice in your head) and a slightly delayed monitoring from PT gave a unpleasant effect in the headphones. Not really flanging, but similar. I found that the direct signal alone has a much more "present" feel, and the feel when you record vocals is important. Not everyone believes me on this, but try it.

Quote:
Don't confuse Low Latency Mode as the same thing as turning your Hardware Buffer size (in Playback Engine) to lower settings (like 128 or lower). Those are two different things. With Low Latency Mode, you could have your Hardware Buffer size set high. This would be the thing to do if your computer is choking with 128 or lower buffer settings. If you have Low Latency Mode off and low Hardware buffer sizes, then you will get low latency and your plug-ins will stay active. This is the best option if your computer can handle it.
