Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
Hi Shuddle and Welcome to the Community
Regarding missing plugins you can only use plugins that has been bought via the Avid Marketplace so Melodyne for example won't work in PT|First so in order to use your favve plugins you need the full version of PT.

Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
Yes but if the plugins were indeed purchased through the Avid store, part of say the Avid Complete Plugin bundle or other bundle, they should work.

So Shuddle, here are a few steps that another member did after I helped him with a similar issue with Melodyne 4 Studio and he got a -7054 error but that was on a Mac so it might behave differently than a PC. Have you tried to reinstall Melodyne? Also trash preferences and databases and make 100% sure you have the latest ilok license manager installed. These three steps worked for another member tonight and I would start with the steps like this: Reinstall Melodyne Trash Preferences and databases Download and install the latest ilok license manager from www.ilok.com Let us know how that works out and don't forget to restart the computer after each step. People forget that and whenthey restart the next day things works again Good Luck

Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
Thanks Christopher! I've already tried reinstalling Melodyne and saved it to multiple different folders as I'm not sure which "plug-in" folder Pro Tools is trying to pull from.
I read somewhere about trashing preferences but I do not know how to do this. Any chance you have some quick steps for completing that? In the meantime, I'll check to see if I have the latest version of iLok manager. Thanks again! |

Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
I have a Pro Tools folder (which is empty) and a Pro Tools First folder (which has a bunch of stuff). Do I need to delete both?

Also you asked where melodyne puts the AAX plugin, It will place it in the correct folder so you dont need to move anything anywhere. Just let the installer put it where it is supposed to be as changing stuff around often makes a mess.

Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
And Shuddle I was just rereading this thread. Please confirm you actually purchased this plugin from the Avid Plugin Store... nowhere else. Even if it runs in Pro Tools 10, if you did not purchase it through the store it will not work with First... as designed.

Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
Thank you both. To confirm Darryl, I did initially purchase Melodyne through the Avid store and I've had no problems until the update for Melodyne Essentials came out.
I have completed all of the steps as follows: -Updated iLok Manager -Deleted Pro Tools Preferences (both folders) -Uninstalled Melodyne and reinstalled it to the default location that the computer decides. Still no luck in Pro Tools First. I may just have to take advantage of the Cyber Monday deal and switch to the full PT version. I only hope that the plug-in will work after purchasing the full version. Thanks again for all of your help! |

Re: 'Missing AAX Plug-ins' Message
So can you confirm again that the Melodyne .aaxplugin file shows up in
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins Make sure you have the latest iLok manager and look at Pro Tools First in ILM and confirm that the name/account show there is correct and the same as the one you used to purchase the plugins (I'm not sure this is exaclty needed, but I'd have a answer ready for Avid in case it is). I can't remember if Pro Tools First has a reset error warnings button but if it's like full Pro Tools then under Preferences there is a button to reset error messages. Just do that and restart PTF to see if there are any error messages being missed. It would be great to get jeffro's or Avid Support's help in this since it sounds like Avid's licensing for First might be messing up here |
