PT/002 Compatibility with G4 w/ 3rd party 1.47 processor
Hey everyone. My first post here. I have an old quicksilver G4 that originally had an 867 Mhz that I upgraded to a 1.47 OtherWorldComputing powerPC processor card. I have been running PT's 6.9.2 with a Digi002 Rack and system 10.4.3. It is working fine but I would really like to upgrade to 7 so I can take advantage of the extras in it and use the newest version of Garageband. Digi says that they do not support 3rd party cards on a mac and that I am lucky to be running at all because they don't test them. Any thoughts? I would love to upgrade but spending $3-5K just isn't happening right now.

Re: PT/002 Compatibility with G4 w/ 3rd party 1.47 processor
I'm A Windoze guy with a MacbookPro. While they may not be supported by Digi every post I have read about upgraded Mac Processers and PT has been positive. As long as PT 7.x is compatible with whatever the latest version of OSX is that you can install on a Quicksilver you should be fine. Hopefully someone will chime in if I'm wrong. There are a few treads about this on the DUC although I'm not sure what the best term to plug into the search function to turn them upwould be.

Not officially supported, but it will probably work. Make sure you can return it if it does not work for you. My 2 cents.

Re: PT/002 Compatibility with G4 w/ 3rd party 1.47 processor
I used a DIGI002 w/ PT v6.x for years on a dual proc G4 that had a Gigadesigns upgrade card in it...worked like a champ until the day I got rid of it!

I've got two G4 (AGP and Quicksilver 2002) machines with GigaDesigns upgrade processors and they've performed excellently.
